Specialties

We specialize in lasting relief from chronic pain and injury, through specific, therapeutic fascial manipulation. Been at a desk too long? Got that nagging hamstring injury? Let us restore proper posture and function by applying Structural Integration (aka Rolfing), Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy, Structural Thai Massage, and Neurovascular Release. In need of Injury and Post-Op rehab, Re-alignment, and Pain Management? We got you. If you're having chronic pain, or would like to improve general well being and freedom of movement, consider doing a 12 series of Structural Integration or a 3 series to get a taste of the work. Sometimes our connective tissue, fascia, holds past injuries and even memories that can hold us stuck in old patterns. Book a discovery call and explore your options!

History

Established in 2013.

After six years at a Sports Medicine Chiropractic Clinic, Christine decided to strike out on her own founding Plava Bodyworks Structural Integration, and continues to help people heal from injuries and find relief from pain by balancing the body’s alignment, and calming the nervous system.

Plava is the Croation word for Blue, calming yet deep.  It is the color of healing, divinity, and of the Medicine Buddha, conjuring deep oceans and infinite skies. This is Christine's favorite color and inspiration, and embodies her therapeutic work.

As a child, Christine enjoyed giving massages to her family and friends. After working on a friend with residual pain from multiple car accidents and having great results, she was inspired to pursue Massage Therapy professionally, which re-awoke her inner anatomy geek and love for healing. In 2011, she graduated from The National Holistic Institute's Advanced Neuromuscular Therapy program, and continued her studies in Reiki, Structural Thai Massage, and Shamanic Healing. Her background in Sports Injury and Rehab restores proper alignment and function, and brings long lasting relief to chronic pain and injury.

Christine has continued her quest for deeper therapy and is a board certified Structural Integration practitioner  in Thomas Meyer's Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI) and his ground breaking myofascial meridian theory of Anatomy Trains.

Most recently, she received advanced Neurovascular Release training from Kirsten Schumaker, and is currently studying Zero Balancing, a gentle modality based in Osteopathy and Acupuncture, that organizes both the physical and energetic body, bringing one back to their true self.

She enjoys nature, an active lifestyle, Yoga and is trained in the alignment-based style of Hatha Yoga. She brings this knowledge to her sessions by giving exercises and stretches to clients to help maintain a healthy body and calm mind.
